Not sure how many of you knew her, but she died yesterday morning suffering from Covid-19. I know this isn't about baseball, but certainly is CU Covid related. She was a wonderful artist and a good friend to all of us. Last seen at one of John"s Fourth of July parties.
She will be missed.
She used to waitress at Chin's, and then she married some local farmer guy and I thought how nice, how wholesome. I'd see her at Mies's but I wasn't sure if she was the same person. but then one time I asked her and she was.
ReplyDeleteBut then it turned out that that farmer hubby was some kind of druggie, and she herself was on some kind of mental disability, but she was very nice and omigod how she could paint. It also turned out that she had some kind of whole other family. maybe she was adopted or maybe her sister was and they didn't connect until late in adulthood.
Fantastic woman, fantastic life. I hadn't seen her at Mies's the last few years and now I guess I never will. It's a big loss.
The name sounds familiar, but I can't quite place her. I am always sad when we lose someone from the old days, because there are so few of us left who remember them.
DeleteFor those unfamiliar with Liddia's art, it is fantastic and you can see a lot of it here: https://www.zhibit.org/profile/liddiastevens
ReplyDeleteHere I go again - maybe - all I want to say is, I love Liddia - one of the most open-hearted persons I ever knew. Sad news.
